Continuity planning at Berkeley utilizes our web-based tool, called UC Ready. This tool was developed here at Berkeley to help our 300+ academic departments, research units, public service units, and support units make themselves more disaster-ready.
Many campus units began using the tool in one of its earlier versions, either Restarting Berkeley (v1) or the Berkeley Continuity Planning Tool (v2). The current UC Ready version (v3) was designed collaboratively by staff from all of the UC campuses & medical centers. It is now in use throughout the UC System.
The UC Ready tool is accessed via UCB's Blu portal, requires a CalNet ID, and is accessible to UCB faculty, staff, and students only.
AVAILABILITY OF THE UC READY TOOL TO OTHER INSTITUTIONS
Numerous institutions outside the UC System have expressed interest in obtaining the UC Ready planning tool. For several years we have made the tool available to any institution of higher education at no charge. In April 2010 we replaced UC Ready with a new, enhanced version of the tool, offered by the Kuali Foundation and named Kuali Ready. Click here for details .
